Handle spins freely – why does it happen?
Handle rotating freely in all directions and the window not responding? A broken spindle is the most common cause – the technician replaces it on-site in 15–30 minutes.
The handle connects to the peripheral hardware through a square spindle (6×6 mm or 7×7 mm). When the spindle breaks – after a sudden jerk or years of use – the handle rotates in the air without transferring any movement to the locking mechanism.

Broken handle spindle

Damaged handle drive mechanism
Handles with position locking (tilt lock, child lock) have an internal switching mechanism that can fail. The handle no longer holds its position or rotates freely through all positions. Full handle body replacement required.
Loose fixing screws
The handle is attached to the sash with two screws beneath the rose plate. Loosening causes the handle to rotate without full engagement. Re-tightening the screws resolves the issue without replacing the handle.
