PVC Window Repair – Adjustment, Sealing and Hardware Replacement
PVC windows are the standard in Polish homes, but after 10–15 years hardware starts to wear. Closing becomes harder, draughts appear, the sash drops or the handle spins with no effect. These are all fixable faults – without replacing the window. We carry spare parts for all major PVC systems and complete most repairs during a single visit.
Most common PVC window faults
Window hard to close, requires force: sash has dropped or hardware is worn. 3D hinge adjustment corrects the sash position. If the hardware is worn through, we replace the perimeter fitting set.
Draught through a closed window: perimeter or centre seal has hardened or detached. Seal replacement takes 30–60 minutes per window and fully eliminates the draught.
Handle spins without effect: the square drive spindle is worn or broken. Handle replacement restores normal lock operation. Parts available on-site for Rehau, Veka, Salamander, Aluplast, KBE.
Condensation between the panes: sealed glass unit is broken. We replace the glass unit without replacing the frame. Units available from 225 zł.

How to assess your windows before calling
The paper test: slide an A4 sheet between the sash and frame and close the window. If the sheet pulls out without resistance, the seal is worn or the window needs adjustment. Check several points around the perimeter – if it grips consistently at every point, the window is sealing correctly.

A drooping sash, rubbing against the frame, or uneven gap at close – precise scissor hinge adjustment restores correct window operation.
Handle and lock replacement
The handle turns with no effect or the anti-burglar lock has stopped working. Quick on-site replacement with no frame removal – done in 15 to 25 minutes.
PVC window sealing
Replacing worn perimeter and central seals eliminates draughts, reduces heat loss and outside noise. We match seals to the window profile.
Glazing unit replacement
Condensation or misting between the panes means a failed sealed unit. We replace the double-glazed unit without replacing the entire window – faster and cheaper.
Window trickle vent repair
A damaged slot or pressure-controlled trickle vent disrupts home ventilation. We repair or replace the vent without interfering with the window frame.

Handle with no effect – the easiest repair
A freely spinning handle usually means a damaged lock or worn hardware. The repair takes 15–30 minutes and costs from 70 zł.
Draught with the window closed – check the seals
If you feel a draught with the window closed, the perimeter seals have hardened or flattened. Replacing the seals is a quick fix – no hardware adjustment needed.
PCV and PVC – the same material, two spellings
PCV is the Polish spelling (polichlorek winylu), PVC is the English and technical notation. Both terms describe the same window material. We repair it the same way.
Condensation between the panes – don't replace the whole window
A failed glazing unit can be replaced without replacing the frame. The cost is a fraction of a new window, with the same result – clean, dry glass.
Window older than 15 years – time for a hardware inspection
Perimeter hardware in PVC windows wears out after 12–20 years of use. A preventive replacement avoids a sudden failure in the middle of winter.
