PVC window repair addresses the cause of a fault rather than automatically replacing the whole window. If the sash rubs, the window is difficult to close, the handle is stiff, there is a draught or misting appears between panes, we first identify the component responsible. Depending on diagnostics, the repair may involve adjustment, hardware service, gasket replacement or insulated-glass replacement.

What problems do we repair in PVC windows?

• Sash rubbing or dropping – we check sash position, hinges, locking points and geometry; adjustment is appropriate when the system allows the position to be corrected without replacing a damaged component.
• Window difficult to close – the cause may involve sash alignment, interaction between keeps and hardware, mechanism wear or another issue. We do not increase compression blindly.
• Handle jamming or stiff – we diagnose the handle, gearbox, locking and interacting components. Continuing to use excessive force can worsen a fault.
• Draught from a closed window – we check gaskets, compression, sash geometry and other possible air paths. A draught does not automatically mean the gaskets need replacement.
• Cracked or permanently deformed gasket – we assess its condition, seating and the solution used in the profile system.
• Persistent misting between panes – this can indicate a loss of seal in the insulated glass unit and is different from condensation on an indoor or outdoor glass surface.

The same symptom can have several causes, so diagnostics comes before adjustment, sealing or parts replacement.

What can PVC window service include?

PVC window adjustment

Window adjustment can include sash position, hinges, compression and interacting hardware components within the adjustment range of the specific system. Not every closing problem can be solved by adjustment; a damaged component may require repair or replacement. Adjustment starts from 50 PLN.

Sealing and gasket replacement

We first identify the source of the air leakage. If diagnostics confirms a worn, cracked, permanently deformed or incorrectly seated gasket, we carry out gasket replacement appropriate to the window construction. Different profile systems can use gaskets with different shapes, quantities and functions, so selection is not based on appearance alone.

Hardware repair and replacement

Service can involve a handle, hinge, stay, gearbox, keep or another hardware component. We identify the manufacturer, series and specific component. If replacement is required, we use a new, original part suitable for the identified system; the required component is taken from stock or ordered from our suppliers.

Insulated glass replacement

If persistent misting occurs inside the space between the panes, we inspect the insulated glass unit. When replacement is the appropriate solution and the window construction permits it, the insulated glass unit can be replaced without replacing the whole window.

Repair or replace the whole window?

Window age alone is not enough to justify replacement. Continued use depends primarily on the actual condition of the profile, frame, structural connections, hardware, gaskets and insulated glass unit, and on whether a safe and durable repair can be carried out.

If the construction remains suitable for continued use, a specific component can often be repaired instead of replacing the whole window. We do not use universal rules such as “gaskets after 10 years” or “hardware after 15 years”; decisions are based on component condition and diagnostics.

What can you check before booking service?

• Open and close the window without excessive force – note whether the sash rubs and where resistance occurs.
• Check handle behaviour – note whether the problem occurs during opening, closing or moving to the tilt position.
• Look at the gaskets – visible cracks, permanent deformation or displacement from the groove are useful diagnostic information.
• Check where moisture appears – misting between panes is different from moisture on a glass surface.
• Do not force the mechanism – if the handle or sash jams, do not try to overcome the resistance with force.

Home checks such as the “paper test” can only show a local difference in resistance. They cannot determine by themselves whether the cause is a gasket, compression setting, sash geometry or another component.

The brand visible on a profile is not necessarily the hardware brand or the manufacturer of the finished window. During service we identify the solution used in the actual unit.
