• a problem outside the adjustment range – when correcting settings of serviceable components does not remove the actual cause.

How to assess balcony door condition yourself?

You can carry out a preliminary check of your balcony doors:

• Check sash position – look for changes in the gaps around the frame or threshold and whether the sash has started rubbing. This indicates that alignment and hardware should be checked.
• Check closing – the door should close without lifting the sash by hand or using excessive force. If it needs "help", the cause may be sash alignment, hardware or a worn component.
• Check the seals – cracks, permanent deformation or a seal coming out of its groove are reasons for inspection. Weak compression alone does not prove that the seal needs replacement.
• Check closing around the perimeter – uneven locking or a handle that becomes noticeably harder to turn during part of its travel can indicate an alignment or hardware issue.
