When does window repair make sense?

Window adjustment

The scope of adjustment depends on the window construction and hardware system and may include sash position and compression at the adjustment points provided by the manufacturer. Window adjustment can restore correct operation without replacing parts when the problem is caused by alignment or compression.

Gasket replacement

Gaskets can lose elasticity, deform or become damaged over time. Gasket replacement can restore correct sealing when the source of the problem is the condition of a correctly matched gasket.

Glazing unit replacement

Persistent condensation or fogging inside an insulating glazing unit usually indicates loss of its seal. Glazing unit replacement allows the existing frame to remain in place when its condition is suitable.

Hardware and mechanism replacement
