Schüco Aluminium Window Repair

Schüco offers different system families for the building envelope. For aluminium windows, one of the key platforms is AWS (Aluminium Window System). Designations such as AWS, ADS, ASE and FWS refer to different families and construction types, so the Schüco brand name alone is not enough to select a service part.

This service covers Schüco aluminium windows and the balcony and patio constructions within our supported scope. We do not service entrance doors, façades or HST / lift-and-slide systems.

How do we start a Schüco window service?

We identify the window system and determine which component is responsible for the symptom. The AWS platform includes many variants and configurations, so the Schüco name alone is not enough to select a replacement part.

Which symptoms justify diagnostics?

• the sash rubs, drops or does not close correctly;
• the handle or hardware operates with obvious resistance;
• a locking element, hinge or another component has visible damage or excessive play;
• a gasket is cracked, permanently deformed or displaced;
• the insulated glass unit is damaged or persistently misted between panes.

None of these symptoms identifies the repair by itself. A stiff handle, for example, can result from sash alignment, hardware condition or a specific mechanism fault.

What can Schüco aluminium window repair include?

AWS system and hardware diagnostics

We check the markings and construction of the specific window. Schüco AWS is a system platform with different window variants and opening types, so parts must match the actual configuration.

Schüco AWS adjustment

Adjustment can include sash position, hinges, compression and cooperating hardware within the range provided by the installed system. Window adjustment starts from 50 PLN.

Gasket replacement

We replace a gasket when diagnostics confirms damage, permanent deformation or incorrect contact. Its profile is selected for the specific system, sealing position and identified construction. Availability of the appropriate variant is confirmed after the window has been identified.

Hardware and handle repair or replacement

If the fault concerns a replaceable component, we select a part compatible with the identified system and current availability. Older or unusual systems can require additional identification or parts ordering.

Insulated glass replacement

If the fault is confined to the glazing unit and the frame and sash remain suitable for use, the insulated glass unit can be replaced without replacing the complete window.

AWS, ADS, ASE and FWS – why should these designations be distinguished?

• AWS – Schüco's aluminium window-system platform and the main scope of this service.
• ADS – a designation found in Schüco door-system families.
• ASE – a designation used for sliding and lift-and-slide systems, among others.
• FWS – a Schüco façade-system family.

When is Schüco window repair worth considering?

We do not set one service interval based on window age. Service is justified when the window does not operate correctly, a component is damaged or inspection identifies an issue requiring adjustment or repair. Window age alone is not a diagnosis.

What can you check safely yourself?

• Closing – check whether the sash moves without rubbing and whether the handle works without excessive force.
• Profile – inspect visible sections for deformation or mechanical damage.
• Gaskets – look for cracking, permanent deformation or displacement from the groove.
• Hardware – do not dismantle load-bearing or locking components; arrange diagnostics if you see play or feel abnormal resistance.

Schüco and other systems

During service we distinguish the profile system from the hardware actually installed. Windows from the Schüco AWS platform can use Schüco hardware solutions, including the AvanTec SimplySmart family, while aluminium constructions can also use hardware systems from other manufacturers. We therefore identify the actual configuration and component before selecting parts rather than inferring the hardware solely from the Schüco logo on the profile.

We provide service as an independent repair company, not as an authorised Schüco service centre. After identifying the system, hardware and fault, we confirm the possible repair scope and required parts.
