Window Service – Maintenance, Diagnostics and Preventive Care
Most window problems start long before they become visible. Stiffening hardware, gasket that lost its compression, hinge that shifted 1 mm – these are the early signs. A professional window service visit catches them before they become repairs.
What is included in a window service visit?
Full hardware inspection: hinge wear assessment, compression level check, multipoint lock function test, handle resistance evaluation. Gasket inspection: elasticity, compression, visible cracks or shrinkage. Glass unit check: moisture between panes (failed unit seal). Frame condition: signs of warping, water ingress at corners.
After inspection: hardware adjustment, lubrication of all moving parts with appropriate product (not WD-40 – it dissolves existing grease), minor seal repairs if possible, and written report of any components that will need replacement within 1-2 seasons.
When to schedule a window service visit?
Recommended every 1-2 years for frequently used windows and balcony doors. After the first winter in a new flat or house – to catch any settling-related misalignment. When you notice early signs: slight stiffness, faint draft, handle that feels slightly different than before.
Do not wait for the window to stop closing. By then, hardware wear is 3-5x greater and repair is more expensive.
Service vs repair – what is the difference?
Service is preventive: the technician adjusts and lubricates what still works, to keep it working. Repair is corrective: it fixes what already failed. Service costs less and prevents the need for repair.

Technical condition diagnostics
We inspect every window in your flat or house – hardware, hinges, seals, glazing units. Report with condition assessment and recommendations.
Sash adjustment and alignment
Precise 3D adjustment of hinges and hardware – the window closes smoothly again, seals correctly and no longer rubs against the frame.
Mechanism lubrication
Lubrication of hinges, perimeter hardware and guides with a specialist product – eliminates squeaking and extends service life.
Seal inspection
Assessment of perimeter and centre seals. If hardened or damaged – replacement carried out on the spot.
Glazing unit assessment
We check for condensation or clouding between the panes. If needed – a quote for glazing unit replacement is provided.
Report and action plan
After the inspection we present a full report: what needs immediate repair, what can wait and what is in good condition.
What is the difference between a service and a repair?

Servicing every 2–3 years prevents breakdowns
Regular maintenance of fittings and lubrication of mechanisms costs 50–100 zł per window. Repairing a breakdown after neglect – from 150 zł upwards.
New windows need servicing too
Windows in newly built properties often require a first adjustment after 6–5 years – paint and plaster settle, frames stabilise.
Squeaking ≠ broken window
Squeaking hinges are a sign they need lubrication – not replacement. A technician eliminates the problem in a few minutes.
Check the seal after winter
A spring inspection after the heating season reveals worn seals and misaligned hinges. Summer is the best time for a service.
One inspection for the whole flat
The technician checks all windows and balcony doors during a single visit. Time: 1.5–3 hours depending on the number of windows.
We document the condition – you have proof for your warranty
The post-inspection report is documentation of the window condition on that date – useful in disputes with the developer or when selling the flat.
