Your windows still work, but you want to know what condition they are in? Or has one sash started to behave differently, the handle become more resistant, or the hardware gone a long time without being checked? This is where window service is useful: not as automatic parts replacement, but as inspection, diagnostics and work selected according to actual condition.

A good service separates what is operating correctly, what needs maintenance or correction and what has become a fault requiring separate repair. Diagnostics and call-out are free, and you receive the price of paid work before it begins.

Window service, repair and adjustment are different scopes

Window service is a broader assessment of condition and operation. It can include inspection, maintenance and identification of genuinely required work. Window adjustment is a specific task for correcting sash position, locking or adjustable compression when the hardware is serviceable. Window repair addresses an actual fault. Servicing helps determine which situation applies.

What do we check during a window service?

No single task automatically constitutes a complete inspection. In a typical tilt-and-turn window we assess opening, tilting and closing, sash position relative to the frame, handle and mechanism operation, locking-point interaction and accessible hardware. We also assess gaskets and reported leakage points. If the concern is glazing, we distinguish surface condensation from moisture between panes.

Not every window needs adjustment during an inspection

A professional inspection does not have to end with every sash being adjusted. If a window is correctly positioned, locks without excessive resistance and interacts with its frame properly, there is no reason to change its settings simply to perform a visible task. If rubbing or uneven locking is found, diagnostics may identify adjustment as the correct next step; a damaged mechanism needs repair instead.

Hardware maintenance – what can it help, and what can it not repair?

Moving components in serviceable hardware require care in line with the relevant system guidance. Cleaning and appropriate lubrication can support smooth operation and reduce unnecessary friction. Gaskets during servicing – assessment instead of automatic replacement

A gasket can become damaged, permanently deformed or cease to perform correctly, but age alone does not determine replacement. We assess its condition and contact and check whether a reported draught actually originates around the sash. If it does, gasket replacement may be appropriate. If the source lies elsewhere, a new gasket alone will not address the cause.

How often should windows be serviced?

Inspection and maintenance frequency should primarily follow the instructions for the specific hardware system. Many hardware manufacturers call for regular, even annual, inspection and lubrication of moving components, with more frequent care in demanding applications. A change in operation—such as new handle resistance, rubbing, uneven closing, unusual sounds or noticeable air movement—is also a reason to check the window.

PVC, timber and aluminium window service

We service PVC, timber and aluminium windows. Frame material matters, but it does not by itself determine the service method. Similar-looking windows can contain different hardware systems. When does servicing reveal a fault that needs a part?

An inspection can show that a component has moved beyond maintenance or correction and needs repair. This may concern a gearbox, drive rod, corner component, hinge or another hardware part. We identify the system first and use new, original manufacturer parts sourced through our suppliers. We do not install aftermarket substitutes or second-hand components.

Window and balcony-door service in one request

Several windows and balcony doors can be reported together, but they do not necessarily need the same work. One may need inspection only, another maintenance, and another adjustment or repair. With balcony doors we assess position, hinges, locking and mechanism operation. A specific fault leads to balcony door repair.

Seasonal window service – does the time of year matter?

There is no need to wait for a particular month to investigate a poorly operating window. Before intensive heating periods users often notice draughts more readily, but the season itself does not determine the required task. Compression should not automatically be increased simply because winter is approaching; settings must suit the actual construction and condition.

How should you prepare for an inspection?

You do not need to know the profile model or hardware name. Tell us how many constructions you want checked and whether any behave differently. Useful details include where a sash rubs, when the handle becomes resistant, where air movement is noticeable and whether the issue occurs during opening, tilting or closing. Accurate observations are more useful than guessing the fault name.

How does professional window servicing work?

1. Request — describe the number of windows and any symptoms. We contact you within about 15 minutes after registration.
2. Free call-out and diagnostics — the technician assesses the constructions and separates serviceable components from those needing attention.
3. Scope and quote — we explain what needs maintenance, adjustment or repair. You receive the cost before paid work begins.
4. Work after approval — we carry out the agreed scope. Timing and whether everything can be completed on the first visit depend on diagnostics, the work required and availability of the correct parts.
5. Function check — after the work, we check the serviced constructions.

We offer a warranty of up to five years on completed work, depending on scope. We leave the work area tidy. Payment is available by card, BLIK or cash, and we provide an invoice.

How much does window service cost?

There is no single price for “window service” because the final scope can range from condition assessment through maintenance and adjustment to a fault requiring separate repair. Diagnostics and call-out are free, and you receive the exact quote before paid work begins.

If diagnostics identifies a specific service, its current starting price applies: window adjustment from PLN 50, cleaning and lubrication from PLN 42, gasket replacement from PLN 20 and mechanism replacement from PLN 50.
