Door Adjustment – Entry, Balcony and External Doors
Doors that scrape the threshold, require extra force to close or let in draughts despite being shut – this is the result of natural hardware wear and building settlement. Precise 3D adjustment restores the correct sash position and closing compression. No parts replaced in most cases, usually completed in 30–60 minutes.
Why do doors need adjustment?
All hinges allow a small amount of play. Over years of use, this play accumulates. The sash settles under its own weight. Building foundations shift slightly with seasonal ground movement. The result: a door that worked perfectly at installation gradually drifts out of alignment.
PVC and aluminium doors have adjustable hinges with three axes of movement – height, horizontal position and compression. A technician adjusts each hinge to return the sash to its original position. Wooden door hinges often require shimming or hardware replacement.

What door adjustment includes
3D hinge adjustment on all hinge points (height, lateral position, compression), hardware lubrication, seal contact check, post-adjustment operation test. If the hinge travel is insufficient to achieve full correction, we replace the hinge as part of the same visit.

Door adjustment from 50 zł (single door, 2–3 hinges). Full external door adjustment from 80 zł. Hinge replacement from 150 zł where needed. Warranty up to 5 years on all work carried out. Free diagnostics at every visit.

Adjustment is enough when the mechanism is intact
If the hardware and hinges are undamaged and the door has simply gone out of alignment – 3D adjustment alone is sufficient. No replacements, no extra costs.
Seasonal adjustment prevents problems
PVC profiles change dimensions by 1–2 mm with temperature fluctuations. Winter and summer adjustments prevent draughts and difficulty closing.
Excessive compression pressure damages the seal
If the compression was set too tight, the seal wears out faster. A technician checks and corrects the compression force to the correct specification.
Entrance doors – check after 2 years
New buildings settle over 2–3 years. Entrance doors may need adjustment after this period as the frame gradually shifts position.
Key problems – don't replace the lock straight away
The cause is often a misaligned door leaf rather than a faulty lock. Adjusting the door position can eliminate the problem entirely.
HST adjustment requires a specialist
HST systems (heavy patio doors) have precision sliding mechanisms. Adjustment requires manufacturer-specific knowledge and service tools.
