Maco Hardware Repair

MACO (Mayer & Co Beschläge) manufactures solutions for windows, doors and sliding systems. For standard Turn&Tilt windows, one of its key families is MACO MULTI-MATIC; the manufacturer also offers other MULTI variants including solutions for heavier or concealed constructions.

Our service focuses on standard MACO window hardware. RAIL-SYSTEMS / Move HS concern sliding and lift-and-slide systems, while RUSTICO is a shutter-hardware family. We do not present these as variants of standard Tilt&Turn hardware and we do not service HST / lift-and-slide systems.

How do MULTI-MATIC, RAIL-SYSTEMS and RUSTICO differ?

• MACO MULTI-MATIC – a hardware platform for Turn-Only and Tilt&Turn windows, used in constructions including PVC and timber windows.
• MACO MULTI POWER / MULTI MAMMUT – specialised MULTI solutions, including concealed hardware and hardware for higher sash weights respectively.
• MACO RAIL-SYSTEMS / Move HS – solutions for sliding systems including lift&slide; these are not standard Tilt&Turn hardware.
• MACO RUSTICO – shutter hardware, not a perimeter-hardware system for timber windows.

Which symptoms justify MACO hardware diagnostics?

• the sash rubs against the frame or has shifted;
• the handle requires more force;
• the window does not open, tilt or close correctly;
• locking requires excessive force or works unevenly;
• a visible hardware component is loose, deformed or damaged.

We do not automatically assign a symptom to one failed part. The cause may be sash geometry, hardware adjustment, component wear or several issues together.

How do we service standard MACO window hardware?

System identification

We check markings, hinge type, component layout and window construction. MACO includes many variants, so selecting parts from the logo alone would be insufficient.

Geometry and mechanism assessment

We check sash movement, hinges, locking components, the handle and cooperating keeps as present in the specific window.

Adjustment

MACO documentation specifies adjustment possibilities that depend on the hardware variant, including height or gasket-compression adjustment in particular MULTI-MATIC constructions. We therefore use settings appropriate to the installed system rather than assuming universal “three-axis” adjustment, one tool type or a fixed number of adjustment points.

Component repair or replacement

A failed component is selected after identifying the system, dimensions and function. Depending on generation and availability, this may be a manufacturer part or a compatible service solution.

Post-service check

We check opening, tilting, closing, handle operation and locking within the functions provided by the specific window.

What should you photograph to help identify MACO hardware?

• The complete sash – this shows the window type, opening direction and hinge-side arrangement.
• The faceplate and visible markings – logos, symbols and numbers can help narrow down the product family and generation.
• The faulty area – especially where a component is cracked, loose or moving abnormally.
• Hinges and corner components – these can help distinguish construction variants without unnecessary dismantling.

Do not dismantle the mechanism simply to find a number. MULTI-MATIC, MULTI POWER and MULTI MAMMUT identify product families or solutions, but they are not complete replacement-part numbers. Before ordering a component, we also check dimensions, profile material and how the part interfaces with the rest of the hardware.

Adjustment or a failed component – how do we tell the difference?

A dropped sash, stiff handle or locking problem does not automatically prove that one component has failed. We first assess sash geometry and the operation of the mechanism. If the components are sound, system-appropriate adjustment may restore correct operation. If a part is cracked, excessively loose, worn or damaging a cooperating component, adjustment alone is not presented as a repair.

Generation identification is particularly important with older hardware. We do not assume that a new component with a similar appearance will be compatible with an older system. Function, dimensions and interfaces are checked first; only then do we select an appropriate manufacturer component or compatible service solution.

MACO hardware maintenance

MACO publishes operating, maintenance and adjustment instructions for its systems, and some adjustment work is designated by the manufacturer for qualified specialists. We select maintenance according to the exact construction rather than applying one procedure or product to every MACO family.

What can you check safely yourself?

• Markings – look for logos and numbers on visible hardware components.
• Sash movement – check whether the sash rubs against the frame while closing.
• Handle operation – do not force strong resistance; note the position in which the problem occurs.
• Visible components – look for play, cracking, deformation or unusual wear marks.

If the construction is sliding or lift-and-slide, we first identify its type. We do not treat RAIL-SYSTEMS / HST as a standard MULTI-MATIC window.

Regardless of the hardware manufacturer, we most often service wear-and-tear components that naturally degrade over time.

• VEKA, Salamander, Aluplast, Rehau – European PVC systems, among the most commonly found in Polish residential construction.
• Drutex, Oknoplast, MS Więcbork – Polish manufacturers found in newer residential developments.
• Schüco, Aluprof – aluminium windows and HST patio doors used in modern construction.
• Roto, Winkhaus, Maco, Siegenia – manufacturers of hardware and multi-point locking systems.
• Velux, Fakro – roof windows commonly installed in detached houses.

We use original spare parts or high-quality replacements — depending on the manufacturer and component availability.

The service process is simple and transparent — six steps from first contact to warranty:

• Free on-site diagnostics – a technician arrives at the agreed time and assesses the condition on site.
• We explain the cause – we show you exactly what needs to be repaired.
• We present the cost – after diagnostics we provide an exact quote. No hidden fees.
• We carry out the repair – after your approval we complete the work, most often during the same visit.
• You verify the result – we test the outcome together. You receive a service report, a warranty on the work performed, and the manufacturer's warranty on original parts.

How much does MACO hardware service cost?

Our current price list shows window adjustment from 50 PLN and mechanism replacement from 50 PLN. This does not mean that every MACO repair costs 50 PLN. The final cost depends on the diagnosed fault, system, required parts and scope of work. Diagnostics and technician call-out are free, and we provide the exact quote before paid work begins.
