A broken window ventilator is not just a ventilation problem. Without proper air exchange, moisture accumulates on walls, mould develops and heating efficiency drops. We repair and replace all types of window ventilators – trickle vents, pressure-controlled and hygro-regulated – in a single visit, without touching the glass or the frame.
Types of window ventilators we service
Slot ventilators (trickle vents) – fitted into the window profile above the glass unit. Simplest type, manually adjustable. Most common in older PVC windows.
Pressure-controlled ventilators – automatically regulate airflow based on pressure difference. Close in strong wind, open when the room needs air. Recommended for most residential applications.
Hygro-regulated ventilators – open wider as indoor humidity increases. Ideal for bathrooms, kitchens and rooms prone to condensation. Required under Polish building regulations WT 2021 in new construction.
Why ventilators fail
Ventilator flaps crack from UV exposure and temperature cycling. The membrane in hygro-regulated units loses elasticity after 10–15 years. Pressure-controlled flaps stick after contamination. In older installations, the ventilator aperture in the frame may be blocked by paint or dried sealant.
Repair or replacement?
If the housing is intact, flap or membrane replacement restores full function. If the housing is cracked or the model is discontinued, we replace the unit like-for-like. Replacement takes 20–40 minutes per window and requires no structural work.

Slot Ventilators (Pressure-Controlled)
The most popular type – they open automatically in response to pressure differences. Simple mechanics, reliable performance, low cost. Installed in the upper window frame.
Humidity-Controlled Ventilators
They regulate airflow based on humidity levels. They close in dry conditions and open when humidity is high – ideal for kitchens and bathrooms.
Acoustic Ventilators (Noise-Dampening)
A specially designed structure that dampens external noise while maintaining the required airflow. Ideal for windows facing busy streets.
Ventilator Repair – Latches and Sliders
A damaged opening and closing mechanism can be repaired without replacing the entire unit. We replace the latch, slider, or damper as needed.
Ventilator Housing Replacement
A cracked or damaged housing needs to be replaced. We match the new ventilator to the colour and system of your existing window.

Window trickle vents – what you need to know
A practical guide: what trickle vents are for and what happens when they're missing or damaged
Damp walls and mould – a common cause: no trickle vent
Airtight PVC windows without a working trickle vent block natural ventilation. The result: condensation on the glass, mould on frames and walls. A trickle vent restores air exchange without draughts.
New PVC windows require trickle vents – it's mandatory
Technical Conditions WT 2021 require window trickle vents or other controlled fresh-air ventilation. Installing new windows without trickle vents is a violation of building regulations.
A damaged trickle vent = no ventilation or constant noise
A faulty mechanism can lock the vent in the closed position (no airflow) or the open position (noise, draught). Repair or replacement solves the problem.
Hygro-regulated vent – better than pressure-controlled in humid rooms
Kitchen, bathroom, utility room – spaces with variable humidity benefit from hygro-regulated trickle vents that automatically adjust airflow.
Dirty trickle vent – clean it once a year
Vent filters clog with dust and debris. A blocked filter restricts airflow below the required minimum. Cleaning once a year is sufficient.
Replacing a window doesn't necessarily mean replacing the trickle vent
If you're only replacing the sash or frame, the existing trickle vent can often be refitted. A technician assesses the vent's condition during a free diagnostic visit.
