Paper test: insert an A4 sheet between sash and frame at several points, close the window, and try to pull it out. If it slides out without resistance, that area leaks. A properly adjusted window holds the paper with light resistance. Seal inspection: healthy EPDM is soft, elastic, and black. Stiff, cracked, or flattened seals need replacement. Hinge play test: grip the sash with both hands and try to move it up/down while closed — any noticeable play means hinge adjustment is needed. Drainage slots: check the small weep holes at the bottom of the frame profile — blocked slots cause standing water and accelerate profile deterioration.
